Fresia laxa is a small rhizomatous plant, around 20 cm tall, producing pretty coral-red flowers in spring and summer. Very hardy, it tolerates full soil without any problems.

Description

Fresia laxa is a small rhizomatous plant, around 20 cm tall, belonging to the iris family. Although little known, this plant deserves a place in our gardens. It's very easy to grow, as long as you take certain things into account. This perennial needs cool, well-drained soil, and can also be grown in rock gardens. Freesia laxa is very hardy, withstanding temperatures down to -10°C. During winter, the plant disappears completely, reappearing in spring. The first flowers appear in late spring and early summer.
