Its fruits are edible but the plant is poisonous like many Solanaceae.

Iochroma flowers from April to October.

Description

Iochroma australis 'Alba' likes well drained soils and can grow up to 3 metres high and 3 metres wide.

This variety has good frost resistance, the leaves fall off at the first frost but reappear in spring along with the flowers.

It is best to prune slightly before the plant starts to grow again to remove the branch tips and give it a better appearance.
